TRAVERSE CITY — John Stuart Corpe, 56, of Traverse City, passed away unexpectedly at home while sleeping on April 4, 2014, due to a stroke.
He was born Feb. 6, 1958, to George and Edith (Rohder) Corpe. John married Cheryl Kaley on Dec. 1, 1984.
He was a co-owner of Auto Repair and Collision of Williamsburg and worked as a finisher at Northern Stainless Fabricating in Traverse City.
John was a great family man whose whole world revolved around his granddaughters.
He played the harmonica with a group called the Taj Garage Band, which consisted of close family and friends. He loved Blues music, cars and his favorite holiday was Halloween.
Left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory are his wife of 29 years, Cheryl (Kaley) Corpe; sister, Rene Corpe; daughter, Christine (Cody) Kelley; son, Andrew (Amanda Helzer) Corpe; and four granddaughters, Hailey and Abbigail Corpe and Alexis and Hannah Kelley.
