TRAVERSE CITY — Linda Lou Sleder, age 63, of Traverse City, passed away peacefully at home Tuesday, April 8, 2014. She was born Aug. 22, 1950, in Traverse City, to Keith and Francis (Powell) Sheldon.
Linda graduated from St. Francis Catholic High School in 1969.
She married Richard Patrick Sleder on May 26, 1972, in Traverse City. Together they raised two children.
Linda had worked for Golden Fowler Furniture in Traverse City since 1988 as a book keeper.
In her spare time Linda enjoyed gardening and traveling and had just recently returned from a trip to Las Vegas. She also loved her dogs, especially Toby, who was her faithful companion until the end.
She will be greatly missed by her husband, Richard; father, Keith Sheldon, of Traverse City; children, Kristi (David) Soper and Bryan Sleder, both of Traverse City; nine siblings, Don (Charlene) Sheldon, Greg (Kathy) Sheldon, Gary Sheldon, Kevin (Una) Sheldon, Bruce (Melanie) Sheldon, Keiren (Ken) Snyder, Diane (Marv) Hagelberg, Sharon (Phil) Mooney and Shawn (Jen) Sheldon; many nieces and nephews; and beloved, dog Toby.
Linda was preceded in death by her mother, Francis.
A memorial gathering will be held Wednesday, April 16, 2014, from 2 to 4 p.m., at the Covell Funeral Home in Traverse City.
Memorial contributions in Linda’s name may be directed to Munson Hospice.
