KALKASKA — Shanda Marie Rhoat, 24, of Kalkaska, passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2014, along with her baby, Neal Jr., as a result of an auto accident.
Shanda graduated from Kalkaska High School.
She was an assistant manager at Save A Lot in Traverse City and had worked there since she was 16.
Shanda enjoyed camping, stock car racing, floating on the river and her dogs, Bailey and Tyler. She was a beautiful person.
Shanda is survived by her mother and father, Barbara and Kent Miller, of Kalkaska; her father, Gordon Daniel Rhoat, of Kalkaska; her companion and baby’s daddy, Neal Guss; her siblings, Daniel Scott (Justine) Rhoat, of Kalkaska, Sara Roschel Miller, of Wisconsin, and Amber Rhoat, of Kalkaska; and her grandparents, Virginia Bowman and Elmer and Billie Ketchum, all of Kalkaska.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, April 8, from 5 until 8 p.m., at Wolfe-O’Neill Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Evergreen Bible Baptist Church with Pastor Bill Kuiper officiating. Burial will be in Excelsior Township Cemetery.
