TRAVERSE CITY — A lifelong native of Traverse City passed away quietly in the early morning of April 4, 2014, at the young age of 72. She was born June 1, 1941, in Traverse City, to Ralph and Louise (Weber) Leach.
Elaine worked as a legal secretary until retirement. At which point she loved spending time with friends and family on Spider Lake, going to her niece and nephews’ sporting events and playing with her grand dogs.
Elaine will be remembered for her smile, infectious laugh, and her love of family and the little things in life.
Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Louise (Weber) Leach; and her brother, Leon Leach.
She is survived by her daughter, Deborah (Harold) Axtell; son, Michael (Sarah) Brown, all of Traverse City; as well as her nieces and nephews; and her grand dogs.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at 11 a.m., with visitation one hour prior, at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, where Elaine was a lifetime member.
Memorials may be made in Elaine’s name to AC PAW, an animal rescue she supported, or Hospice of Michigan.
