FARMINGTON HILLS — Barbara A. Collins, 80, of Farmington Hills, formerly of Cheboygan, passed away Saturday, March 29, 2014, in Farmington Hills.
Barbara was born June 11, 1933, in Cheboygan, the daughter of William and Martha (Jankoviak) Sproul. On Oct. 13, 1951, in Cheboygan, she married Patrick Collins, who preceded her in death in 2009.
She was employed as a teller at the Governmental Employees Credit Union in Traverse City for many years.
After retiring she wintered in Arizona for over 20 years and also vacationed in Alaska three times.
She was a member of St. Mary/St. Charles Catholic Church and the Daughters of Isabella.
Surviving are her son, Michael (Pamela) Collins, of Farmington Hills; a daughter, Laurie (John) Blume, of Cheboygan; four grandchildren, Kelly (Jamie) Young, of Columbia, S.C., Sean (Corina) Collins, of Bellingham, Wash., Nichole Kessner, of W.Va., and Andrea Kessner, of Traverse City; and two great-granddaughters, Andi Joy Anderson and Emory Clementine Kessner.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Patrick; and a brother, Donald Sproul.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
