PITCAIRN, N.Y. — A celebration of life for Morgan Nichole Horten, 10, will be held Saturday Sept. 28, at 1 p.m., at the Harrisville United Methodist Church, Harrisville, N.Y. A luncheon will follow in the church fellowship hall. At the request of the family, everyone who is planning on attending her celebration please where bright colored clothing or your Walk for Morgan shirts.
Morgan died Saturday morning at her home while under the care of her loving family and Hospice of the Saint Lawrence Valley.
She was born Oct. 31, 2002, in Fayetteville, N.C., to Jamie S. Horten and Mary Doerr Horten.
She was a fifth-grader at Harrisville Central School.
She enjoyed spending time with family, doing arts and crafts and exploring New York City.
She is survived by her mother and stepfather, Mary Doerr Horten and Richard Henry, of Pitcairn, N.Y.; her father, Jamie Horten, of Pitcairn, N.Y.; and her siblings, Shyla Henry, Ryan Horten, Caylee Henry, Taylor Horten, Alex Horten, Payton Henry, and Gage and Owen Henry. She is also survived by her grandparents, Mark and Nancy Horten, and Anita and William Doerr, all of Kingsley, Richard and Lori Henry, of Carey, Ohio, and Cheryl and Daniel Nye, of New Regal, Ohio. She also has a great-grandmother, Rita Barton, of Three Rivers; and aunts, uncles and cousins.
