RAPID CITY — Bonnie Rogers, 56, of Rapid City, passed away on Friday, Sept. 20, 2013, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City as a result of an accident. She was born on June 2, 1957, in Santa Rosa, Calif., the daughter of the late Jean Burge.
Bonnie was the lifetime companion of Delton Cordell; the devoted mother of Rachel (Jim) Wheeler of Rapid City, Dara Finley and Gabrial Cordell, both of Bryan, Ohio; the beloved grandmother of Kaylee Finley, Trevor Finley and Makayla Cordell; and the cherished sister of Barry Burge, John Powis, and Sheryl (Sonney) Simmons, all of Santa Rosa, Calif. She also is survived by four nieces and four nephews.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her sister, Carol (Wayne) Crayford; nephew, Mitchell Cook; and niece Angela Simmons.
Bonnie enjoyed raising her children, riding horses and stock car racing. She worked in the pits on race cars as a young woman. Bonnie was an avid motorcyclist.
Visitation will be today, Sept. 23, from 2 to 8 p.m. at Wolfe-O’Neill Funeral Home. The funeral service will be on Tuesday, Sept. 24, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home, with additional visitation from 11 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be a Clearwater Township Cemetery.
