---- — TRAVERSE CITY — Betty J. (Eddy) Harper peacefully passed away on April 9, 2013. Betty was born in Lansing on July 27, 1926, to Luella and Herman Eddy. Betty grew up Lansing and graduated from Eastern High School in 1943.
During World War II Betty worked in the REO tank plant where she met her beloved, Robert “Bob” Harper. They were married on March 1, 1946. Together Betty and Bob raised their daughter, Nancy, and owned Kalamazoo Street and Herm’s Auto Body Shops in Lansing. Betty and Bob worked side by side for 40 years.
Betty was a member of Central Methodist Church in Traverse City. Betty was a strong and kind soul with a loving and generous heart.
Betty was preceded in death by Herman, her dad, in 1935; Luella, her mom, in 1989; and Bob, her husband, in 1998.
Betty’s loving memories will be shared by her daughter, Nancy Harper (Ken Johnson); granddaughters, Nicole Rodriguez (Marc Galindo) and Chris Weitschat (Mike); great-grandchildren, Kendall and Riley; nieces and nephews; her brother, Herman (Nancy); and many friends.
A visitation will take place at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home in Lansing from 2 to 4 p.m. on April 13, 2013.
