TRAVERSE CITY — Bryon John Pankow, 51, of Traverse City, passed away at his home after a lengthy battle with a crippling disease on April 5, 2013, surrounded by his family.
Bryon was raised in Northern Michigan and he was a veteran of the United States Army.
Bryon was a very loving, generous man and he always wanted to make his family and friends happy and proud. He always told great jokes and stories. He loved to be outdoors. He was a hard physical worker and loved wood working. His imagination was a true gift from God.
He was the beloved husband of Peggy Buchholz for 17 years; loving father of Delores “Dee Dee” (Joshua) Goodman of Nevada, Chelsea Buchholz and Madison McClain both of Traverse City; son of Gerald Pankow of Traverse City; brother of Denise (Jim) McClain and Lorri (Steve) Habitz of Petoskey. He is also survived by his nieces Crystal, Donna and Anne; nephews Joshua and Mitchell; and his great nephew Wade and great niece June. He was preceded in death by his mother Delores Pankow and brother Wade Pankow.
A celebration of life will be held at 10 a.m., on Saturday, April 13, at The Salvation Army, 1239 Barlow St.
