---- — MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Helen Jane Laycock, formerly of East Lansing, died April 1, 2013, at the age of 95. She was born June 10, 1917, the daughter of William and Fannie McCracken.
Helen was a graduate of Cadillac High School. She lived most of her life in East Lansing and the last several years in Bartlett, Tenn. She loved her summers in Glen Lake.
She was a dedicated mother and homemaker. She enjoyed the outdoors, traveling, reading and spending time with her friends and family.
Helen was preceded in death by William E. Laycock, her husband of 71 years; her parents; one brother; and one sister.
She is survived by her children, Joan Florence, of Bartlett, Tenn., and William B. Laycock, of Glen Lake; grandchildren, Ryan (Meg) Jose, of Olive Branch, Miss., and Amy (Mike) Romanoski, of St. Peters, Mo.; great-grandchildren, Tyler Luckett, Ashlyn, Katie, Jillian and Blaine William Romanoski, and Bailey and Auburn Jose; and her sisters-in-law, Jean Stadler, of Flint, and Virginia Laycock of Ouray, Colo.
A graveside service will be held today, April 5, 2013, at 11 a.m., at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, 14480 Webster Road, Bath, MI, with the Rev. Charles Krueger, Spiritual Care and Bereavement Coordinator of Great Lakes Caring Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice in Helen’s memory.
