---- — FIFE LAKE — Zelda Mae Gill, 80, passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on Aug. 8, 1932, in Fife Lake, the daughter of the late Harold and Zola (Brower) Weaver.
Zelda married Emmett Gill on Aug. 18, 1952. They were lifelong residents of Fife Lake.
Zelda worked and retired from Forest Area Schools.
She served in a lot of community organizations over the years, including the Fife Lake Township Treasurer, Save Our Schools Citizen’s Committee, to name a few.
Zelda was a member of the Fife Lake United Methodist Church and was a previous organist and choir director.
Zelda is survived by her children, Deborah S. (Paul) McCool, of Overland Park, Kan., and Dennis K. (Donna) Gill, of Fife Lake; her grandchildren, Jessica (Ryan) Scheuermann, of Joplin, Mo., Sarah (Tony) Zullo, of Colorado Springs, Colo., Adam Gill, of Fife Lake, Jamie Gill, of Traverse City, and Jennifer Gill, of Fife Lake; and her great-grandchildren, Joshua Scheuermann, Carmen Zullo and Uriah Zullo.
Preceding Zelda in death were her husband, Emmett in 1986; and her brother, Wayne W. Weaver.
Visitation will be held today, April 5, from 2 until 4 p.m. and 6 until 8 p.m., at the Wolfe-O’Neill Funeral Home in Kalkaska. The funeral is on Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Fife Lake United Methodist Church.
