---- — HONOR — Patricia “Pat” Ann Geetings, 84, of Honor, died Sunday, March 31, 2013, at her home. She was born Nov. 11, 1928, in Flint, the daughter of Andrew and Kittie (Bare) Rosa.

Pat worked as an inspector for many years at Normic Industries in Traverse City. Even after her retirement she continued to work part-time until the age of 75.

In her spare time she enjoyed going to the casino. She was an avid sports enthusiast who enjoyed watching baseball and basketball, especially the Detroit Pistons. Later in life she took up woodworking and began making wooden lawn ornaments.

Pat’s life centered around her family. She loved hosting family get-togethers, especially on Christmas and the Fourth of July. She was a talented cook and was famous for her potato salad. Pat cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and spent a great deal of time attending their school functions.

Pat is survived by her children, Tedd (Shannon) Geetings, of Beulah, Kim (Patty) Geetings, of Beulah, Patty (James) Ballard, of Honor, and Barney (Mary) Geetings, of Honor; her grandchildren, Christopher (Christina), Tami (Mark), Nathan (Brianne), Dana (Shan-Mei), Travis (Cassie), Ryan (Jesse), Ben, Melissa and Maggie; her great-grandchildren, Amy, Kayla, Michelle, Branson, Drew, Zoē, Zachary, Rylee, Dalton, Mason, Jordan, Aiden, Addison, Austin and Autumn; and her siblings, Bruce (Pauline) Rosa, of Traverse City, and Marvel Money, of Honor; and her sister-in-law, Jean Rosa, of Honor.

On Jan. 22, 1947, Pat married Bernard “Tink’ Geetings, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Andrew “Bud” Rosa and Paul Rosa.

Memorial services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 6, 2013, at the Bennett-Barz Funeral Home in Beulah, with the Reverend Marvin Rosa officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 5, 2013, at the Bennett-Barz Funeral Home in Beulah.
