THOMPSONVILLE — Jacob “Jake” Michael Fekete, 22, of Thompsonville, died March 26, 2014.
Jacob loved deeply throughout his short life. He was loyal to his friends and family without wavering. Jacob’s family meant everything to him in life, and Jacob meant everything to his family. Jacob also loved his dog, Beaufort; they were actually very similar, both being anxious, excitable, loyal, affectionate, intelligent, playful, loving and hairy.
Jake was an athlete who loved wrestling and football. He was a devoted follower of the University of Michigan athletics, Detroit sports teams and of his little brother, Jared.
Jake’s interests were many; he loved to hunt and fish, grilling on the deck, playing guitar, writing music and singing. He also loved being with his friends, especially with his big sister, Jordan, and her boyfriend, Jordan Ritter.
His interests expanded to his studies at the Great Lake Maritime Academy, where he found a new passion in engineering studies. Jake dreamed of his future of sailing to new places. He has now made first stop and final destination to his heavenly home with Jesus Christ.
He is survived by his parents, Mike and Stacey Fekete; sister, Jordan Fekete; brother, Jared Fekete; grandparents, Louis and Marlene Fekete and Jerry and Linda Philo; aunts and uncles, Lorri (Patrick) Schneider, Shannon (Rob) Laffleur, Wayne (Lisa) Philo, Dianne (Aaron) Babcock, Jerry Philo Jr., Ron (Robyn) Fekete, Dave (Patsy) Fekete, Angel (Jim) Clement, Kristine (Ben) Ruetz and Tim (Molly) Fekete; many cousins and extended cousins who were more like siblings; and very special “nieces and nephew,” Annabella and Andrew Edinger, and Shea Laffleur.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Jowett Family Funeral Homes in Benzonia. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 31, at 1 p.m., at Eden Bible Church, with Pastor Dan Ingersoll officiating. Burial will be in Thompsonville Cemetery.
Arrangements are by Jowett Family Funeral Homes & Cremation Service.
