TARPON SPRINGS, Fla. — E. “June” McLachlan, 86, of Tarpon Springs, Fla., formerly of Kewadin, died at home after a brief illness on Feb. 28, 2014. Born Feb. 6, 1928 in Winnepeg, Manitoba, she is predeceased by her parents Alois and Elida Mancl, and her late husband of 63 years, Robert K. McLachlan.
During her adult life, June was a homemaker, telephone operator, bookkeeper, and high school administrative assistant. As the wife of a fruit grower, she was involved with the activities of McLachlan Orchards, the family centennial farm. She loved to entertain, and prepared outstanding gourmet meals for family and friends.
She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister and grandmother. She is survived by her two daughters, Karen Lamb and Candace (Dirk) Western of Tarpon Springs; sister, Carolyn Karraker of Windermere, Fla.; grandsons, Kevin Lamb and Robert Western; granddaughters, Keri Becker and Therese Young; seven great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A private memorial service will be held on March 22 at 1302 Kelso Boulevard, Windermere, FL, 34786 with burial at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Fla. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
