LAKE ANN — Robert Maurice Buttars, 48, of Lake Ann, passed away unexpectedly in Minot, N.D., on Tuesday, May 21, 2013.
Bob was born on Sunday, Nov. 8, 1964, to Robert and Barbara (Apodaca) Buttars in Salt Lake City, Utah. He married the former Lynette Kay Blackford on Saturday, Feb. 15, 1986, in Traverse City.
Bob had worked as an auto heating and cooling specialist.
He was an avid baseball fan, especially enthusiastic about the Detroit Tigers. He enjoyed cooking, hunting and fishing as well as other athletics.
He is survived by his wife, Lynette, of Lake Ann; sons, Branden and Gregory, of Lake Ann, and Sean, of Traverse City; grandson, Noah Clark; his mother, Barbara A. Preville, of Fostoria; sisters, Lisa Buttars, of Mason, and Julie (Ron) Rocco, of Kentwood, Ill.; grandmother, Francis Coates, of Riverton, Wyo.; and other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Visitation for friends and family will be held from 10 until 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 28, at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, with funeral services then beginning at 11 a.m., also at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenbriar Cemetery in Lake Ann.
