MAYFIELD — Thelma Gray, 74, of Mayfield, passed away at Munson Medical Center on May 21, 2013. She was born at home to Ernest and Pauline (Brockman) Tuttle on Nov. 2, 1938, near Curtis.
Thelma married George Gray Sr., who preceded her in death in February of 1984.
She worked for 30 years as a custodian at NMC and owned and operated Gray’s Kennel in Mayfield for about 15 years.
Thelma loved animals and spending time with her grandchildren. She was kindhearted and well known in the community, as she easily made friends. She was a very generous woman; she enjoyed helping others and would have given her last dollar to someone in need.
Thelma is survived by her twins, George (Meg) Gray and Pauline Gray; grandchildren, Jeana, Paige and Sophia Gray; stepdaughters, Fran Kadrovach, Georgia Reicha and Edna Milne; brother, Donald (Betty) Tuttle; sister-in-law, Evon Tuttle; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Also surviving are her beloved dogs, Louie and Sweet Pea.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George; two sisters; and one brother.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 27, 2013, at 2 p.m., with visitation one hour prior, at Covell Funeral Home in Traverse City.
