GRAND LEDGE — John departed this life on New Year’s Eve with a final good-bye to his wife, Marilyn Cunningham St. Germain, only weeks before their 58th wedding anniversary. John was blessed to be in the presence of loving family members during his passing.
John is survived by his six children and their spouses, as well as 18 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and two great-grandsons due in the next couple of months.
For decades John lived part-time in Traverse City, where he formed many friendships. He truly enjoyed those endearing and enduring relationships. Thanks is extended to the men at BK for stimulating morning coffee conversations. Thanks is also extended to the cousins, nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends of John’s children for continuing fellowship through the years.
John and Marilyn attended St. Patrick Catholic Church during the summer months, always seated in the front row and always holding hands. John was also an active member in his home parish, St. Michael’s Church in Grand Ledge.
John’s family wishes to send this prayer to those individuals caring for a loved one or employed in the care of persons with dementia: God bless you.
