---- — CENTRAL LAKE — Darlene L. (Roach) Brady, 56, of Central Lake, passed away on Jan. 4, 2014, at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor, following complications of pulmonary arterial hypertension. Darlene was born on Dec. 20, 1957, in Wyandotte, the daughter of Carl and Barbara (Stedman) Brady.
Darlene was a resident of Belleville for many years prior to moving to Central Lake 30 years ago.
She attended the Bible Baptist Church in Central Lake and was a past member of the Central Lake Ladies Auxiliary.
She enjoyed cooking, reading and being in the outdoors, which is what brought her to northern Michigan.
She is survived by three sons, Ronald (Rebecca) Allard, of Minnesota, Scott (Nadia) Allard, of Petoskey, and Samuel (Jamie) Roach, of Rapid City; and 12 grandchildren, Logan Elijah, Charity Louise, Ronald Elisha, Josiah Carl Allard, Corbin William, Aidan Nelson, Laila Renee, Isaiah Scott Allard, Sienna Lynn, Hayden Joseph, Kellen Edward and Harper Rae-Louise Roach. Also surviving are her father, Carl Brady, of Central Lake; a sister, Geraldine (Richard) Holmes, of Ann Arbor; a brother, Lance L. (Claudia) Brady, of Farmington Hills; several nieces and nephews; and her best friend, Lynn Samuel, of Central Lake.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Barbara Brady; and her grandparents.
Funeral services will take place on Thursday, Jan. 9, at 2 p.m., at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Pastor Russell Tharp will officiate. Visitation will be on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of services. Interment will be in Southern Cemetery, Central Lake Township.
