TRAVERSE CITY — Lorraine Eby, 78, of Traverse City, passed away on Dec. 30, 2013. She was born on June 22, 1935, to John and Lillian (Colon) Mikowski in Leland Township, Leelanau County.
Lorraine is survived by her sons, Joseph Eby, of Interlochen, and John Eby, of San Francisco; brother, Clayton Mikowski, of Traverse City; and granddaughters, Meagan and Rachael.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Joseph Eby on March 15, 1993; her parents; and sisters, Connie DeVito and Maxine Makowski, both from Traverse City.
Lorraine was a lifetime resident of the Traverse City area and enjoyed summer days at the beach with family and friends, boating on the local lakes and attending the Cherry Festival. She also loved playing cards, Bingo and slot machines. A country music fan all of her life, she enjoyed live shows from visiting artists.
Lorraine worked at Chef Pierre/Sara Lee, for 30 years, at one point becoming the number one in seniority. She attended the annual retirees party in 2013.
Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014, at the Life Story Funeral Home, Traverse City, with the Rev. Fr. Jim Hayden, of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, officiating. The family will greet friends immediately following from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Burial will be in the Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens in the spring.
