Peggy Lipe

HARRIETTA — Peggy (Burnett) Lipe, 52, of Harrietta, passed away on Monday, Feb. 3, 2014, after her battle with pancreatic cancer. Peggy was born on March 8, 1961, in Carson City, to William and Grace Burnett.

Peggy graduated from Belleville High School and married her husband of 32 years, David Ryan Lipe. They moved to Traverse City and became parents to a daughter and son.

Peggy’s loving and nurturing character led her to run a daycare out of her home for 14 years providing care for children she loved like her own. The family moved to Mesick, where she took employment at Carpenter Enterprise LTD for 12 years. Peggy graduated from Cadillac Institute of Cosmetology and was a machine operator at Materne.

Peggy enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, being a grandmother, catering events and hunting.

Peggy was a loving, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.

She is survived by her husband, David Lipe; daughter, Nicole (Edward) Schultz; son, Ryan (Keri) Lipe; stepmother, Shirley Burnett; siblings, Robert (Roxanne) Burnett, William (Susan) Burnett, James (Robin) Burnett, Steven Burnett, Laura (Kevin) Hibbard, Bruce (Joy) Burnett, Sharon (Gene) Yordy, Sue Lipe and Rodney (Stue) Dana; six grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Peggy will be greeted at the gates of heaven by her father and mother, Bill and Grace Burnett; her father and mother-in-law, Bob and Lee Lipe; brother, Daniel Burnett; sister-in-law, Sue Lipe; brother-in-law, Buzz Lipe; and a niece, Rachel Cox.

A celebration of life will be held at the Hall-Holdship Funeral Home in Manton on Saturday, Feb. 8, at noon. Visitation will be Friday, Feb. 7, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home. Burial will be at Sherman-Mesick Memorial Park in the spring.
