---- — KINGSLEY — James Patrick Magley, 81, of Kingsley, passed away on Dec. 24, 2013. He was born in Muskegon on June 12, 1932.
Pat was a veteran of the Vietnam and Korean wars. He served in the U.S. Navy for four years and then was a Merchant Marine for the Great Lakes. He then enrolled in the U.S. Army serving for over 21 years.
After retiring from the military he worked at Burnette Foods for 12 years.
Pat married Bertha Moore on May 1, 1961.
In his free time he enjoyed fishing, hunting, snowmobiling and traveling with his wife.
He was a faithful member of the Fife Lake Baptist Church.
Pat is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Bertha; daughters, Gina (Robert) Sonnenberg and Pamela Magley; grandchildren, Josef, Deanna, Carl, Adrianna, Paul, Joshua, Emma and Brendan; and brothers, Avery (Sally) Magley and Randall Magley.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Seattle Rose Magley; sister, Florence Hill; brothers, Bill, Dick, Carl, Jake, Truman and John Magley; and son, Baby Magley.
Visitation will be held on Monday, Dec. 30, 2013, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with the funeral service starting at 2 p.m., at the Fife Lake Baptist Church in Fife Lake.
