FRANKFORT — Marjorie Louise (Morrow) Johnson went to be with the Lord on Friday, Dec. 20, 2013. She was the daughter of the late George and Belle (Geeting) Morrow.
Marjorie married Melford Johnson on June 1, 1946, celebrating 58 years of a loving marriage; Melford passed in 2004. Marjorie also lost a great-grandson, Justin in May 2013.
Surviving are daughters, Linda (Jerry) Philo, of Thompsonville, and Karen (Barry II) Kieft, of Muskegon; grandchildren, Lorri (Pat) Schneider, Stacey (Michael) Fekete, Shannon (Rob) Laffluer, Wayne Philo, Barry Kieft III, Benjamin (Kristin) and Brandon Kieft; great-grandchildren, Jessica (Blake) Edinger, Jordon, Jacob and Jared Fekete, Michelle Laffluer, Kalynne, Jason and Devlin Philo, Brody, Baliegh and Brenna Kieft, Taylor Cunningham-Kieft and Brinley Kieft; great-great-grandchildren, Andrew and Annabella Edinger and Shae Laffluer.
Marjorie and Melford were the original owners of the El Royal Restaurant in Fruitport from 1960 to 1973.
Marjorie was an avid golfer and bowler. She also enjoyed gardening and canning the vegetables she grew.
Marjorie first interest and love was her family and extended family. She never missed an opportunity to enjoy her family and being a “special granny.” She was always kind and giving to everyone.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Dec. 27, at 1 p.m., at Eden Bible Church, with Pastor Dan Ingersoll officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in Thompsonville Cemetery in the spring.
