TRAVERSE CITY — Timothy “Tim” Lee Donnelly, 73 of Traverse City passed away peacefully on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013 at Munson Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.
Tim was born on Feb. 17, 1940 in Washington D.C. to the late Thomas A. and Eleanor Florence (Taylor) Donnelly. He married the love of his life, Donna Maxine Casselman on Oct. 25, 1958.
Tim honorably served our country from 1957-1961 in the United States Coast Guard. After his time in service he was a lineman for Cherryland Electric. Also, he was a dedicated fireman and Fire Chief for Elmwood Township from 1962-1991.
In his spare time, Tim loved to spend time with family and friends, was an avid sportsman who loved fishing and hunting. He was a talented wood worker and he was a dedicated scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts for many years.
Surviving Tim are his wife Donna; children, Sue (Terry) Wilkins of Traverse City, Allen (Deb) Donnelly of Kingsley; grandchildren, Amanda, Sarah, Justin, Allee, Scott (Liza) Petersen, Josh (Lindsey) Petersen, Kirt (Chelsea) Grow, Kyle Grow; great-grandchildren, Hannah, Thomas, Caden, Brandon, Nathan, Gavin, Kamrin; siblings, Florence (Wes) Hower, Richard (Nancy) Donnelly, Ellie (Don) Clark, Chris (Richard) Pifer; sisters- and brother-in-law, Roberta Manville, Richard Casselman, Dorothy Antes; and several very special nieces, nephews and cousins.
Tim is preceded in death by his parents and beloved son Joseph.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m., on Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013 with a rosary held at 7 p.m. at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place a5 11 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 18, at St. Francis Catholic Church. Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery.
