LAKE ANN — Daniel “Dan” Alan Beechraft, 41, of Lake Ann, died Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014, as a result of an automobile accident.
Dan gave generously of his time to those around him. He volunteered with the Inland Township Firefighters and was a medical first responder.
He had an honest, strong and hard work ethic, working 20-plus years with Fergusons Fireplace. He also worked at the family Beechraft sawmill and was a partner in business with his brother, Paul, at Bendon Heating Products.
Dan cherished his time spent with his family; he especially looked forward to the nightly bedtime routine with his son, Travis. Continuing a family tradition since 1976, Dan and Paul hosted a family pig roast on the Sunday of every Memorial Day weekend.
He is survived by his wife, Donna; son, Travis Mikel; parents, John and Sharon Beechraft; grandmother, Amelia McCarry; in-laws, Donald and Christine of Winegarden; sister, Melinda “Mindy” Beechraft; brother, Paul (Cindy) Beechraft; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Kemp J. Beechraft; grandfather, Herbert R. McCarry; and infant sister.
Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, at the Inland Twp. Fire Department, with Matt Kinsinger and Mike Mead co-officiating. Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Inland Twp. Cemetery.
