TRAVERSE CITY — Marilynn Jean Ligon passed away surrounded by family at Munson Hospice House in Traverse City.
She loved nature and enjoyed being active outdoors skiing, golfing and playing tennis.
She was devoted to her faith in the Christian Science Church.
Marilynn was born in Royal Oak in 1925. In 1943 met and married her husband, A. Leonard Ligon, in Texas while he was enlisted in the service prior to going to fight in World War II. She later moved to and became a resident of Traverse City in 1945.
Marilynn is survived by sons, Leonard (Eddie) Ligon, of Traverse City, and Charles Ligon, of Sarasota, Fla.; her “daughter,” Kathleen Klaasen Dohm, of Traverse City; grandchildren, Matthew, Amber, Rebecca, Emily, Zachary and Dijon; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Marilynn was preceded in death by her husband and her son, David Ligon.
Cremation will take place with the family remembering her privately.
