TRAVERSE CITY — William George “Bill” Burrows, 63, was welcomed into heaven with Jesus Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014. He was born in Traverse City Feb. 14, 1950, to Max and Gladys (Horne) Burrows.
Bill grew up in Elk Rapids, fishing and hunting the area with his father, Max, and brother Bob. He also enjoyed playing tennis with his sister, Brenda. He went on to graduate from Ferris State University and pursue a professional career of a Pharmacist, retiring in 2012. He married Sandra L. (Schultz) Burrows on Sept. 27, 1993, and they enjoyed a life of love together.
God truly blessed us with an incredibly loving “daddy” and grandpa to our children. Most of all he loved to spend time with his family by the lake shooting his many cannons and fireworks. He often shared family stories and history with countless inherited photos, war memorabilia, and other keepsakes. He carried on the family love of hunting and fishing, especially through his first grandson, Jaxon. He also enjoyed the history of the Civil War and World War II. We will always cherish the times we spent Morel mushroom hunting, listening to Fleetwood Mac and Tom Petty, making homemade ice-cream, bird watching chickadees, woodpeckers, and mourning doves. His unconditional love and support for his family and friends and lots of witty remarks, our favorite being “That’s life according to Bill,” accompanied with his smile are forever imprinted in our hearts.
