TRAVERSE CITY — Fred Nelson Potter, 60, of Traverse City, died May 10, 2013.
Born Oct. 2, 1952, in Frankfort, he was the son of Frank and Shirley (Milliron) Potter. Fred grew up in the Bear Lake area graduating in 1971 from Bear Lake High School. The family then moved to Traverse City in 1972.
For 18 years, Fred worked for Traverse City Osteopathic Hospital until he suffered two strokes. He still enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and going for golf cart rides with friends. He also liked going to the casino. Fred always had a smile and a wave for anyone going by. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his brother, Evrid D. Potter; sister, brother-in-law and niece, Pamela Potter Hintz, Leslie Hintz, and Kathryn Hintz; aunts, uncles, many cousins; and Fred’s very good friends, Steve and Kathi Clous.
Funeral service is scheduled for noon Saturday, May 18, at the Jowett Family Funeral Homes, Benzonia, with Pastor Dan Ingersoll officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
