TRAVERSE CITY — Beverly S. LaBonte, age 64, of Traverse City, passed away Sunday, May 5, 2013. She was born May 21, 1948, in Traverse City, to John and Virginia (Myschock) Winowiecki.
She graduated from St. Francis High School in 1966.
On Dec. 18, 1970, Beverly married Albert LaBonte at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
She worked as a dietary aide for Birchwood Nursing Home for over 17 years.
Besides being an amazing cook, Beverly was devoted to her family. She enjoyed every moment she spent with them, especially her daughter, granddaughter and two beautiful great-grandchildren. She was well known for cooking some of the best, cucumber gravy, tomato gravy, and on an almost weekly basis she made her famous bean soup. In her spare time Beverly enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and going for walks.
She will be greatly missed by her husband of 42 years, Albert; daughter, Diana LaBonte, of Traverse City; granddaughter, Alisha (Henry) Husted, of Traverse City; two great-grandchildren, Cassidy and Henry “AJ”; six siblings, Louise, Irene, Marilyn, Rita, Julie, Janet and Raymond; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Beverly was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Sunny and Irving.
A memorial Mass will be held Thursday, May 9, 2013, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, at 11 a.m., with visitation two hours prior. The rosary will be prayed at 10 a.m. in Centennial Hall.
