COPEMISH — Vernice Helen Milarch, 89, of Copemish, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2012, surrounded by her loving family in Westland. She was born Dec. 22, 1922, in Bay City, the daughter of Vern and Clara (McGivern) Duell.
Vernice was a founding member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Interlochen.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother who enjoyed gardening, crafts, needlework and painting. Most of all, Vernice loved spending time with her family.
Vernice is survived by five children, Janet Bensing, of West Bloomfield, Roger (Sharon) Milarch, of South Lyon, Kathleen (George) McFall, of Redford, Pamela (Donald) Holdeman, of Westland, and David (Kerry) Milarch, of Copemish; 18 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Vernice was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Leo Milarch in 2006; her grandson, Roger Sharp; her sisters, Dorothy Rak and Dolly Harris; and her brothers, Donald Duell and Charles Duell.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Interlochen, with Pastor Mark Berlin officiating. A luncheon will be held immediately following the services at the church. Committal services will be held at 2:30 p.m. at the Cleon Township Cemetery in Copemish. Visitation will be held today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church and on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until time of services at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Redeemer Lutheran Church Memorial fund for the visual aid screen.
