MESICK — Josephine (Kmotorka) Harris, 77, of Mesick, passed away at Munson Medical Center on March 26, 2013. She was born to Butler and Opal (Adkins) Robinson on December 15, 1935 in Forge Branch, Ky.
Josephine married Charlie Kmotorka in 1962. Together they raised six children. Josephine loved gardening and canning. She was an exceptional cook, and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. In her free time, she liked to watch the cardinals outside. Josephine may have been a tiny woman, but she had a huge spirit and had immense strength.
Josephine is survived by her brother Butler (Ann) Robinson; children Bobby (Cheryl) Qualls, Chris (Joan) Kmotorka, Katherine Kmotorka, Melissa (Mike) Kerby, Jon Kmotorka; grandchildren Tina Kmotorka, Stephanie (Freddy) Sanchez, Charlie LaBreck, Adam LaBreck, Jake Kerby, Jennifer (Vaughn) Knapp, JuliAnne Kerby; great-grandchildren Layla, Julien, Samantha, Kian, Kaydance, Alexis LaBreck; and beloved dog Miloh. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Charlie, two sisters and one brother, daughter Martha Qualls, and granddaughter Jalynn Rose Kerby.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., Friday, March 29, at Covell Funeral Home in Traverse City. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 30, with visitation one hour prior at Covell Funeral Home in Traverse City. Burial will take place after the service at Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens in Traverse City.
