Michael I. Livingston

SUTTONS BAY — Michael Irvin Livingston, 50, of Suttons Bay, passed away accidentally on Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2011.

Michael was born Jan. 27, 1961, at Munson Medical Center, the first son of Irvin H. and Evelyn E. (Fabiszak) Livingston.

He was a 1979 graduate of Suttons Bay High School where he excelled in football and track and field. His love of sports continued as he was an avid fan of football and baseball.

Michael was a man whose character was defined by hard work. He started working on the family cherry farm by pulling tarp at 9 years old and was employed at the Leelanau Fruit Co. He was also a cancer survivor, beating the disease just a few months ago.

Michael is survived by his mother, Evelyn; his siblings, Lori (Kenneth) Pease, Allen Livingston, Kayla (Brad) Thomas; special aunt, Kathleen Livingston; a loving nephew, Kenneth Jason Pease, and loving nieces Kelsey Pease and Madelain Thomas; many aunts, uncles and cousins; and girlfriend Tina.

He was preceded in death by his father, Irvin, on Dec. 28, 1981.

Visitation will be held today, Nov. 20, from 4 to 8 p.m. with the rosary to be prayed at 7 p.m. at the Martinson Funeral Home of Suttons Bay. The Mass will be celebrated Monday, Nov. 21, at 11 a.m. at St. Michael Church of Suttons Bay. Father James Doherty will serve as celebrant. Burial will follow in Keswick Maple Grove Cemetery.
