TRAVERSE CITY -- Gail S. Broderick, 69, passed away Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009, at home with her family and friends by her side.
Gail was born on Sept. 20, 1940, in Detroit, to the late William and Helen (Engi) Tucker.
Gail moved into her home in Traverse City 29 years ago on her birthday. She loved to tour her visitors on the pontoon around Silver Lake. She enjoyed fishing and playing golf locally and in Florida.
She was a good artistic painter and was always looking for subjects. She loved fun and laughs with her friends and co-workers, and never met a person she couldn't/didn't talk to.
She was so fond of her nurses at Munson and the Infusion Clinic who cared for her with tremendous compassion.
She was employed at Iron Works and at MESC for two years and at MDOT for 18 years, where she served as a secretary and all-around worker.
She cherished her children and grandchildren. After retirement she traveled with her partner, Marilyn out west and to Alaska, and spent the winters in Zephyrhills, Fla. She will be missed by her many, many friends and family members.
Surviving Gail are her longtime companion and friend, Marilyn Baker of Traverse City and Zephyrhills, Fla.; children, Kimberly H. (James) Mosca of Sault Sainte Marie, Jacqueline E. Broderick of Sault Sainte Marie and Michael P. (Susan) Broderick of Dearborn; sister, Eileen (Robert) Gilbert of Dearborn Heights; brother, William (Mary Ellen) Tucker of Zephyrhills, Fla.; and five grandchildren, Patrick, Elizabeth, Rudolph, Ashley and Jeffery.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions in Gail's honor may be directed to the Cherryland Humane Society or the Leukemia Foundation.
