November 08, 2009 06:25 am EAST LANSING -- Dr. Terry A. Ferguson, age 54, met his personal Lord and Savior, Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009. He was born in Toledo, Ohio, on Jan. 19, 1955, to parents Kenneth and Carol (Applegate) Ferguson and lived in the Buckeye State until his graduation from Maumee High School in 1973. Dr. Ferguson loved to read and study God's word, and went on to receive the following degrees during the course of his lifetime, 1977 - Bachelor of Religious Ed. In New Test. (Great Lakes Christian College); 1981 - Master of Divinity in Old Test. (Lincoln Christian Seminary); 1985 - Master of Arts in Philosophy (Lincoln Christian Seminary); 1995 - Master of Theology (Calvin Theological Seminary); 2009 - Doctor of Ministry (Trinity International University). While at Great Lakes Christian College, Terry married Luanne C. Deater on Feb. 14, 1976, at South Lansing Christian Church. The couple has since served in the Christian Ministry field for the past 33 years. Dr. Ferguson is survived by his wife of 33 years, Luanne; his children, daughter, Lyndsey, son, Greyson, daughter, Chrystyn, all of East Lansing; parents, Kenneth and Carol Ferguson of Maumee, Ohio; and sister, Kimberly Richards of Laingsburg. A memorial service will be held Nov. 16, 2009, at 4 p.m., at University Christian Church, 310 N. Hagadorn Road, East Lansing. Services will be led by his buddies, "God's Mafia," Dr. Keith Ray, Lt. Colonel Bob Guy, Bob Twist and Tom Spoors (all ministers of the Gospel). The family will receive friends Sunday, Nov. 15, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the church. Donations in Terry's memory may be contributed to University Christian Church, Sienna Heights University and/or the Ferguson family.
