FLAGLER BEACH, Fla. -- Robert F. Kincaid, 87, of Flagler Beach, Fla., and Traverse City, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and father-in-law, passed away Nov. 2, 2009.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy; sons, Robert Jr. (Georgia), Thomas and Mark (Ellen); daughters, Jane Tynes (Matt) and Susan Kincaid; grandchildren, Katie Kowalczyk, Sarah Tynes, Catherine, Matt (Carly), Chris, Mark Jr. and Brooke Kincaid, and Rebecca Vlaming (Chris); and great-grandchildren, Grace and Jack Vlaming.
After serving in World War II in Burma, India, Malaysia and the Pacific Theater, Robert was awarded four Bronze Stars.
He graduated with a degree in Chemistry from Albion College, where he played football as a defensive lineman.
Robert had a remarkable 30-year career with the Dow Chemical Company. He worked and lived with his family in Switzerland, Peru, Uruguay, Venezuela, Coral Gables, Fla., and Midland. He was founder and Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Dow Latin America.
He and his wife, Nancy, spent their retirement between homes in Traverse City, Sanibel and then Flagler Beach, Fla.
A private family gathering will take place in Flagler Beach on Nov. 7, with a memorial service at a later date in Traverse City.
