Three North Stars picked for tourney

TRAVERSE CITY — Three Traverse City North Stars will play in the North American Hockey League's Top Prospects Tournament Feb. 20-22 at the Troy Sports Center.

North Stars selected to the North squad were defenseman Zack Dorer and forwards Sean Murphy and Will Badner. Also picked was Kalamazoo forward Brock Raffaele, who like Badner is from Cadillac.

There will be six teams — Central, Midwest, North, South, West and the NAHL 18U Selects --in the tournament with each playing three games.

Raffaele, meanwhile, was named the Perani's Hockey World National Player of the Week by JuniorHockey.com. He helped Kalamazoo to three wins over the weekend with three goals and five assists.
