KALAMAZOO — Cadillac had a hand in both ends of Sunday’s 4-3 shootout win by Kalamazoo over Traverse City.

Cadillac product Will Badner scored a first-period goal for Traverse City when ex-teammate Brock Raffaele was in the penalty box for the K-Wings.

Both were shooters in the shootout, but neither scored, although Raffaele helped set up Andrew Graves’ short-handed goal late in the second period that put Kalamazoo up 3-2 at the time.

TC’s Michal Toman scored with 2:44 left in regulation to force overtime. Jared VanWormer also had a goal for the North Stars, set up by Badner and Alex Taulien. Sean Murphy had a pair of assists.

The two teams play Tuesday in Traverse City.
