TRAVERSE CITY — Ironmen avoid sweep in TC

Jamestown avoided a sweep in the three-game weekend series on Saturday with a 3-2 win over Traverse City.

The North Stars had taken the previous two games at Centre ICE.

In Saturday's game, the Ironmen scored two goals in the third period for the win. Luc Gerdes and Jeff McFarland scored the goals.

Jamestown led 1-0 early in the game, but the North Stars would tie it on a Jared Van Wormer goal from Eric Rivard and Mitchell Snider.

Then in the second period, Snider scored from Kyle Froese and Robert Weiner for a 2-1 lead.

Zach Nagelvoort made 24 saves for Traverse City, which outshot Jamestown 40-27.
