K-Wings beat Stars again

KALAMAZOO — Stars beat again

Traverse City has its back against the wall.

With a 7-3 loss on Saturday at Kalamazoo, the North Stars must win out to stay alive in their NAHL first-round series.

The Jr. K-Wings have a 2-0 lead after winning both weekend games on their home ice. The series will shift to Traverse City next weekend.

In Saturday's win, Kalamazoo came back from a 2-1 TC lead in the first period with a pair of goals in the first 4 minutes of the second period for a 3-2 edge.

The North Stars tied it on Eric Rivard's second-period goal, but the K-Wings would tally two more before the second intermission and two in the third period to ice it.

Sean Murphy and Nathan Harris had goals for Traverse City while Chris Leibinger, Chris Waterstreet, Harris and Murphy had assists. Kyle Laslo made 24 saves in the loss.
