Bonis earns CCHA Player of Week honor

Ferris State University junior forward Kyle Bonis, who played for the Traverse City North Stars, has been chosen as this week's Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) Offensive Player Of The Week.

Bonis registered a team-leading four points with three goals and an assist in Ferris State's season-opening series sweep at St. Lawrence (N.Y.) last weekend

He netted his first goal of the season on an even-strength game-winning tally in Friday's 4-2 victory over the Saints.

Bonis then had a personal career-high three points (2-1-3) and tallied another game-winning goal on a power-play in Saturday's 5-1 victory.

The 5-11, 175-pound forward concluded the two-game set with a plus two efficiency rating.

For his career, Bonis has recorded 23 points on 12 goals and 11 assists in 57 contests.

Meanwhile, freshman goaltender CJ Motte, another former North Star, stopped 16 of 17 shots in his collegiate debut in Saturday's win.
