TRAVERSE CITY — Goalie Kyle Laslo stopped 36 shots Friday night as the Traverse City North Stars defeated Kalamazoo 4-0 in a North American Hockey League game at Centre ICE.
Sean Murphy scored two goals in the win. Mitchell Snider and Jared Van Wormer also tallied as Traverse City improved to 22-15-5.
After a scoreless first period, Snider scored on a power-play to give the Stars the lead. Michal Toman assisted. Toman drew another assist later in the period on Murphy's first goal.
Murphy netted an unassisted goal 4:25 into the third period to push the lead to 3-0. Van Wormer finished it off on assists from Chris Leibinger and Chris Waterstreet.
The North Stars directed 25 shots at Kalamazoo goalie Alex Okicki. They were outshot 27-13 over the final two periods.
The teams play again tonight at Centre ICE.
