North Stars suffer first loss

Aberdeen rallied from a 3-0 deficit late in the second period to beat the Traverse City North Stars 5-4 in a shootout Friday in the NAHL Showcase.

The Wings scored four unanswered goals to surge ahead. It took a Chris Waterstreet tally with just under five minutes to play to tie it for the North Stars.

Aberdeen won the shootout 1-0 on a goal by Ryan Doner, who also scored in regulation.

It was the second consecutive game decided by a shootout for the North Stars, who are now 2-1.
