WYANDOTTE -- The Traverse City North Stars jumped out to a 3-1 first period lead over the Motor City Machine on Sunday, but then the wheels fell off in a 6-4 North American Hockey League loss at Yack Arena.
It was only the sixth win of the season for the Machine.
Josh Bussell led the way, registering three goals. Goalie Matt Delaney stopped 32 of 36 shots.
Phil Wendecker, Eric McLintock and Travis White netted goals to spark Traverse City's first period run. After two goals by Bussell tied it, McLintock and Motor City's Ryan Misiak swapped second period goals to make it 4-4 after two.
Bussell broke the tie early in the third priod and the Machine added an insurance tally later.
