Stars' Jean named Player of the Week

TRAVERSE CITY -- North Stars forward Kyle Jean has been named the North Division Player of the Week.

Jean -- who signed his national letter-of-intent to play at Lake Superior State last week -- notched two goals as the North Stars split a pair two-game series with Alpena. On Friday, the Sault Ste. Marie, native netted a goal in a 3-2 loss. The next night, the 18-year-old struck for the game-winning marker as the North Stars downed the IceDiggers, 3-1. He was also a plus-2 on the weekend.

"Kyle just knows how to use his size and his skills to generate scoring chances," North Stars coach Anthony Palumbo said. "He's a consistent, dominant force out there."
