TRAVERSE CITY -- The Traverse City North Stars mounted a huge comeback Friday for a 5-4 home win over Janesville at Centre ICE.
The teams played on a pink ice surface as part of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Janesville (5-7-0) took a 3-0 lead early in the second period after goals from Gehrett Sargis, Chris Volonnino and Rui Encarnarcao.
Then, the North Stars (8-3-1) turned it around. Andy Huff scored two second period goals, Garrett Thompson and Doug Clifford also found the net and TC took a 4-3 lead into the second intermission.
Kellin Ainsworth scored a powerplay goal in the third period for a 5-3 Stars lead.
The Jets scored with 90 seconds remaining on Cam Severson's powerplay goal, but it wasn't enough.
Dan Radke had three assists while Clifford, Ainsworth, Eric McLintock, Kyle Jean and Nick Shkreli each added one.
Stars keeper Drew Strandberg made 20 saves to get the win.
