North Stars beat up on Team USA

TRAVERSE CITY -- The Traverse City North Stars made it two in a row over Team USA, this time topping the U-17s 5-2 on Saturday night after winning in a shootout on Friday.

Nate Urbaniak, Kyle Bonis, Chris Heineman and Garrett Thompson each had two points for the Stars.

Urbaniak scored the game's final two goals to give TC insurance in the third period. Thompson, Heineman and Bonis assisted.

Bonis had put the Stars up 8:48 into the game off a Heineman assist and Thompson added to the lead 1:05 into the second.

Team USA scored twice to knot it up before Chris Salomone and Tim Opie set up Marc Thompson's go-ahead goal.

C.J. Motte made 23 saves for the win.
