North Stars win; clinch playoffs

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Traverse City won its second game in as many days Sunday with a 3-2 victory over first-place Mahoning Valley.

The North Stars (30-17-6) clinched a playoff berth on Saturday with a 4-1 win over the Phantoms (34-14-5).

In Sunday's victory, had two goals from Kyle Bonis, including the game winner. Tim Opie also scored while Marc Thompson, Garrett Thompson and Nathan Urbaniak had assists.

C.J. Motte made 40 saves to earn the win in net.
