North Stars fall 3-2 in overtime

FROM STAFF REPORTS

WYANDOTTE -- Jake Friedman scored 13 seconds into overtime as Motor City beat the Traverse City North Stars 3-2 in a North American Hockey League game.

Motor City led 2-0 after the first period on goals by Billy Balent and Alec Thieda.

Traverse City tied the game in the second period when Eric O'Hearn and Chris Heineman tallied. O'Hearn's goal came with the Stars short-handed. Kyle Jean assisted. Kyle Bonis and Nathan Urbaniak assisted on the Heineman goal.

Brandon Stephenson stopped 18 shots for the North Stars. Joe Moore had 23 saves for Motor City.
