North Stars wreck Machine

TC picks up an 8-1 road win

WYANDOTTE -- Garrett Thompson had three assists to lead the Traverse City North Stars to an 8-1 rout of the Motor City Machine.

Former North Star Adam Sponseller scored Motor City's only goal in the second period, after TC had built a 4-0 lead on goals by Marc Thompson, Kyle Jean and two from Kyle Bonis.

Josh Miller, Mike Schenfeld, Chris Saomone and Sean Burke added goals in the third period for the Stars. Tyler Stephens drew two assists.

C.J. Motte made 23 saves for TC.

Five North Stars players will see action over the next three days in the NAHL's Top Prospects Tournament. Bonis, Jean, Nate Urbaniak and defensemen Travis White and Chris Heineman will represent TC on the North Division team.
