NMC Barbecue Day
Traverse City — Northwestern Michigan College will host its 57th Barbecue from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. today, May 20, on main campus.

Film to be shown
Frankfort — The film "Meek's Crossing" will be shown Thursday, May 24, to honor community and local Democratic Party volunteers the late Joyce Skinner and the late Mel Schuman.
The film starts at 6 p.m. at the Garden Theater, 301 Main St. Bruce Ogilvie will discuss local connections to the Oregon Trail before the movie. Admission is $10.
Artists give talk
Frankfort — Edee Joppich of Northport and Ted Peterson of Glen Arbor will give a talk Thursday, May 24, in conjunction with their exhibit at the Oliver Art Center, 132 Coast Guard Road.

Leland — The Fiber Frenzy Etc. sale of gently used handmade textile art and fiber art supplies will be held at the Old Art Building, 111 Main St.
A sneak preview sale will be held 5-8 p.m. Friday, May 25. Admission is $5. The sale continues 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, May 26, with items half-price 2-3 p.m. Admission is free on Saturday.

Traverse City — Reservations are due Friday, May 25, for a luncheon and program hosted by the Women's Resource Center and the Three Generations of Women Givers.
