Cherryland Electric history

GRAWN — A new hardcover book about Cherryland Electric Cooperative’s 75 years in business is now available.

“Lighting the Way” features more than 30 photographs and 120 pages of history. Each chapter chronicles a decade starting in the 1930s.

The cooperative’s Communications Coordinator Nick Edson started doing interviews and collecting material for the book three years ago.

The book costs $10 and proceeds will be donated to area nonprofit agencies. It is available at Traverse City area book stores and at Cherryland.

Spitzley at Horizon

TRAVERSE CITY — Amy Spitzley, author of the young adult novel, “Scrapbook of My Revolution,” will be signing her book from 2 to 4 p.m., Saturday, May 4, at Horizon Books.

Poetry signing

TRAVERSE CITY — Poet David Hardin, author of “A Ruinous Thirst,” will be signing the collection of contemporary poetry at Traverse City’s Horizon Books on Saturday, May 4 from noon to 2 p.m.
